Prostavor Studies

STINGING NETTLE

In a clinical trial, 287 Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) patients who had been treated with Stinging Nettle showed a significant reduction in IPSS, serum PSA and prostate size.

In a 2011  randomised double-blind study with 100 BPH patients results shown that Stinging nettle had a better effect in relieving clinical symptoms in BPH patients compared to the placebo.

In a study conducted with 431 patients to compare a combination of  Saw Palmetto and Stinging Nettle with the synthetic 5alha-reductase inhibitor Finasteride results showed a equivalent in efficacy for both treatments. The safety analysis showed that more patients in the finasteride group reported adverse events than in the group treated with Saw Palmetto and Stinging Nettle

PUMPKIN SEED

In a double blind, placebo-controlled randomized comparative study results have shown a significant decrease in IPSS, AMS and ADAM scores along with reduced postvoiding residual volume in patients treated with Beta sitosterol and a Saw palmetto combination

Another study done on Beta-sitosterol showed that men who took Beta-sitosterol had better urine flow rate than men who took a placebo

SAW PALMETTO

Numerous studies have shown that Saw Palmetto has the ability to be an effective inhibitor of the 5alpha-reductase 1-receptor which shows it to be a useful alternative to Finasteride.

Some studies have noted that Saw Palmetto can effectively inhibit both type 1 and type 2 isoenzymes of  5alpha-reductase

As a 5alpha-reductase inhibitor Saw Palmetto prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT can contribute to benign prostate enlargement as well as male pattern baldness

LYCOPENE
